The refurbishment, upgrading, and expansion of the Oxford Street flagship store was the most complex and intensive retail project undertaken in a “live” trading environment and included major structural and services alterations, replacement escalator arrays, high voltage power infrastructure and managing asbestos. The project’s high profile location, and unavoidable need for road closures and disruption to traffic flow, required extremely close liaison with key stakeholders such as Transport for London, the Police and HSE.
