Styles&Wood secures place on Merseyrail Framework

Styles&Wood has been named as one of the three contractors appointed to Merseyrail’s £10m framework. Alongside Morgan Sindall and Amalgamated Construction, Styles&Wood has been appointed to both lots of the five-year framework.

The framework provides the opportunity to work on varying projects throughout its stations estate. Projects being delivered, or set to be delivered, across the Merseyrail network, range from large schemes, station enhancements and rebuilds, car park projects, lift installations and booking office refurbishments.

Merseyrail’s concession covers 75 route miles, including Southport, Ormskirk, Kirkby, Hunts Cross on the Northern Line, and New Brighton, West Kirby, Chester and Ellesmere Port on the Wirral Line. It has 68 stations, and 6.5 miles of track in underground tunnels, on a network that includes five underground stations. The network also carries around 110,000 passenger journeys each week.

Andy Shaw, Operations Director at Styles&Wood said:

“We’re delighted to have secured a place on this framework, providing refurbishment solutions to enhance our clients’ estates is our strength and expertise.

Securing significant new frameworks like this further supports our growth and ambition in key sectors, such as the non-track side rail environment, and we look forward to a long-term relationship with Merseyrail.”
